Effective washing, drying, dosing, separation or subdivision of the primary material is only possible if it is homogenous and does not contain any fine dust or dust components and is not overlong.

Mixed materials with various different weights, moisture content, and calorific values affect the energy efficency during the combustion (of domestic waste for example). The primary material must therefore be properly separated out (homogenised) in order to reclaim as much energy as possible.

In this context, it is important to see that the material does not produce heat, grind together, adhere or cause material-altering processes. This could impair the availability of the incineration plants and lead to malfunctions

The quality of grinding also plays a big role in the reclamation. Requirements specifying 15 mm or smaller, can easily be achieved by individually configuring the recycling plants.
