Paper and cellulose or pulp materials as versatile resources
The paper and cellulose industry, with its enormous need for the raw material wood as the basis of its “consumer products,” can by recycling make an important contribution to the sustainable use of wood as a renewable resource in the biological life-cycle.
Paper and cellulose products are found in many shapes and forms. They are mainly used in newspapers, books, catalogues, plans, photos, paper money, documents, packaging, cartons, bags and carrier bags. And indeed paper and cellulose materials are also used in nappies, in medical dressings or even in pills. A considerable proportion of paper, newspapers and cartons is recycled. Developments in the recycling industry are tending towards defibration of the paper or cellulose to provide auxiliary substances for insulation or construction materials and for the packaging industry.
Preparation of paper and cellulose materials for recycling using Holzmag technology
The old paper material has to be treated to prepare it for being made into paper again, and it is brought to the pulper in the form of bundles or bales. Any residue of wires, strings or films are taken as continuous braids to the residue recycling section, and are shredded and divided up into combustible material and metal waste. By means of the massive cutter blocks of the Holzmag PreciCut Shredder, these continuous braids can be cut to the desired granulate size. Books, catalogues, journals are shredded to form uniform fragments for the renewed recovery of paper fibres.
Holzmag Recycling solutions for the high-security sector (banks, military, security paper manufacturers, disposal companies)
For banknotes, documents and security papers, a shredding to a very fine granulate is required. Holzmag meets all the necessary security grades with its cutter systems. For military and high-security documents, a briquetting or pelleting can be implemented using Holzmag technology to render the documents completely unrecognisable. Major banking institutions and security paper manufacturers and disposal companies work with Holzmag technologies.
